New Orleans' Audubon Zoo came through Katrina so well in part because it is built on the highest ground in the city, and also because Zoo officials had worked with the folks at the Miami Zoo and learned from their experience with Andrew to develop an excellent storm plan.
Now, let's all hope that Gustav stays away from the Gulf Coast!
